Sunny Side Up is Sherwood Park’s newest breakfast establishment. Based inside the New Asian Village, they are the first co-sharing kitchen of its kind. Sunny Side Up breakfast menu is available from 7am – 2pm and the New Asian Village menu is available from 11am – 10pm. (add this on website)
Large party/corporate or event Pick-up and Delivery orders require time to put together. Our kitchen estimates 30-40 minutes to prepare, package and check the orders for accuracy and your satisfaction. The estimated time will be based on the number of plates requested. About the owner
Monika Lavelle is the owner of the Sherwood Park New Asian Village. She is the eldest of three daughters of Harmeet Kapur, a chef and founder of the New Asian Village chain. With a 40-year history, this restaurant is the oldest in Edmonton.
She initially intended to create Tandoori Fried Chicken as a joke, but customers enjoyed it, and she and her chefs went on to develop other successful cross-cultural Indian-Canadian dishes.
Monika was also passionate about the techniques she learned from her mother, Charanjeet, and her grandmother, Surjit, as to which spices to use. Monika was also named Businesswoman of the Year for her work on Naan-O-Licious, which was dubbed “The Perfect Fusion” in the Business Newspaper and Edmonton Woman magazine.
She did exceedingly well in developing new dishes at her now-closed Naan-O-Licious restaurant located on Whyte Avenue. In the Edmonton Journal, Naan-O-Licious introduced an innovative “street food” menu from India that fuses cultures.
